At the Alabama Livestock Auctions for the week ending August 19th, receipts at 21 markets was an estimated 14,300 head compared to 12,451 last week and 12,683 year ago. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly steady, while all feeder classes sold unevenly steady. Trade was active with good demand on feeders.

Compared to one week earlier slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 higher, slaughter bulls mostly steady, feeder steers and heifers steady to 2.00 lower, feeder bulls unevenly steady, steer calves and bull calves unevenly steady, heifer calves steady to 2.00 lower, replacement cows mostly steady.
