Florida Watermelon Queen is Key to FWA’s Marketing Strategy
The FL Watermelon Queen is an icon of the Florida watermelon industry. She travels around the United States to trade shows, supermarkets and industry events to promote the FL Watermelon Industry. Laura Land, new president of the Florida Watermelon Association (FWA), believes the FL Watermelon Queen is key to the FWA’s marketing efforts. “We can’t touch as many people by any other means as deeply as we can with our queen,” Land said. Land said the Watermelon Queen has gone on 160 promotions across the country.
