Pecan truffles are a growing opportunity for Georgia pecan growers, and both farmers and local chefs are excited about the possibilities. Dr. Tim Brenneman, a University of Georgia plant pathologist, has been researching pecan truffles since he discovered them in the late 1980s, and right now he is working on inoculating pecan trees with the fungus that creates truffles.
