This week, I spoke at WATEC Israel 2015, a conference and exhibition that brings together government officials and business leaders from around the world to discuss the challenges facing the world’s water supply.
The diversity of the event’s participants, who came from every corner of the world with varying degrees of conflict over water supply and water quality, reflects the global nature of this challenge and the need for us to focus on it.
Here in Florida, I am working with the Legislature to develop and implement a comprehensive water policy that will help ensure we have a healthy and abundant supply of water. Rather than react to hurricanes or a particularly severe drought, we have the opportunity to advance policy in a non-reactionary, thoughtful way.
