Georgia Peanut Commission Sponsoring David Ragan at Upcoming NASCAR Race

TIFTON, Ga. (August 25, 2014) – The Georgia Peanut Commission will be sponsoring Georgia-native, David Ragan, in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Oral-B USA 500 race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Aug. 31, 2014.

Joe Boddiford, GPC vice chairman and chairman of the GPC Promotions Committee, is looking forward to the race and the exposure it will bring for Georgia’s agricultural industry; particularly peanuts. “David Ragan is a Georgia native and Georgia is the No. 1 peanut-growing state in the nation,” Boddiford says. “The Georgia Peanut Commission is very excited to have this opportunity to help sponsor him in the Atlanta race this Sunday and we’re certainly hoping he’ll win.”

The Atlanta race will be televised at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, Aug. 31. Radio broadcast will be available on several radio stations throughout Georgia and on Sirius Radio, channel 90. Following the race, David Ragan will make an appearance at the Georgia Peanut Commission’s booth at the Sunbelt Ag Expo, Oct. 14 & 15, 2014, in Moultrie, Georgia.
