The 2013 Alabama Best Steak Contest is underway, and Erin Beasley with the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association said they’ve made a few changes to this year’s promotion which she hopes consumers will have fun with.

Forty restaurants have already been nominated into the contest that will determine “Alabama’s Best Steak”, a statewide promotion sponsored by the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and the Beef Checkoff program. Online voting for this contest began on June 20th and will continue until August 30th. The contest is open to anyone to vote and any restaurant in Alabama that serves a great steak to their customers.
In its 2nd year, a bracket challenge will be featured to help determine the best steakhouses. From now until August 16th, consumers need to visit the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association Facebook page, http://tinyurl.com/nbg8oxu, or text BEEF to 20566 using your cell phone in order to vote for their favorite steak restaurants. On August 16th, the restaurants with the most votes will be announced in the “Sizzling 16” bracket challenge! Consumers must keep voting to ensure that their steakhouse makes the “Sizzling 16”. To date, these restaurants have received votes from valued customers.
