Nearly $3 Million Awarded for Longleaf Pine Restoration

On a rainy Tuesday afternoon, a good crowd gathered under the Bear Lake Pavilion in the Blackwater River State Forest in Northwest Florida yesterday for an announcement about a Longleaf Stewardship Fund Grant.

Leonard Jordan$2.88 million in grants were announced as one of the agencies involved in this process was the Natural Resources Conservation service and one of the speakers at the event was Regional Conservationist Leonard Jordan who I talked with about this effort.

The partners involved in this process all gathered for the presentation of the $2.88 million check which will be used to support restoration of the Longleaf Pine in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
