Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam is scheduled to speak to the Florida Cattlemen’s Association’s annual convention, which includes a bull auction, a banquet with guest speaker Baxter Black, the cowboy poet, and a trade show, as well as the association’s membership and leadership meetings. It runs Monday through Thursday and Putnam’s remarks are on Wednesday evening. (Wednesday, 7 p.m., Marco Island, 400 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island.) In a related story, while Governor Rick Scott’s schedule will likely not allow a visit to the convention, we hear he may be putting in one of his workdays on a cattle ranch in coming days.
