The folks who breed new varieties of tomato plants will soon have the tools they need to make tomatoes better for farmers and for consumers. In this report, USDA reporter Gary Crawford talks with USDA Chief Scientist Catherine Woteki who says that success in mapping the genetic makeup of tomato plants could eventually bring consumers more of what they say they want in a tomato.
