Highlands County growers did a great job this year cooperatively battling HLB-spreading psyllids through the use of cooperative spray programs called Citrus Health Management Areas (CHMAs). Highlands County Citrus Growers Association Executive Director Ray Royce reports on that successful effort, and looks ahead to association objectives in 2012. Objectives include further strengthening the cooperative spray program and protecting Highlands County agriculturists’ ability to pursue additional agricultural endeavors on their land.
