Future Citrus Workers May Not Come from Mexico
As soon as 2015, the majority of citrus and other farm workers may not come from Mexico as they do now, says Frank Gasperini, vice president of the National Council of Agricultural Employers. Citrus Growers and Researchers Expect a Lot from Rootstocks
At a recent Citrus Research Field Day originating in Lake Alfred, University of Florida scientist Jude Grosser told growers about the many attributes he and other researchers are seeking in new rootstocks. Suitability for use in new Advanced Citrus Production Systems and the ability to survive and produce fruit in the face of HLB and other diseases are among the qualities sought. Learn more.
