The International Symposium on Mechanical Harvesting & Handling Systems of Fruits and Nuts will be held April 2-4, 2012 at the Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred. It will be a unique opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with the main players in mechanical harvesting systems. Growers will learn how to save money and reduce labor costs using mechanical harvesting and abscission aids and get updates on the latest harvesting machine improvements from engineers and machine manufacturers. Other topics will include ways to avoid plant stress during harvesting and new designs in orchards, tree design and crop handling for harvesting systems. Attendees will be able to watch mechanical harvesters in action in a commercial citrus grove. Get more details and register online.
