Truck and Tractor Pulling is back in Tifton! The Spring Tifton Truck and Tractor Pull rolls into town on Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16 at the American Legion Fairgrounds. Sponsored by the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League and the Southern Pullers Association, truck and tractor pullers from all across the Southeast will compete for Southern Pullers Association Championship points and prize money.
“Some highlights this year will be the presentation of the American Flag carried by a WWII Army Tank driven by local leader Buddy Bryan. Also, the Tifton pull will honor Roy Everett, the driver of the Doerunner 4X4 truck from Doerun. Roy started his pulling career in Tifton and became National Champion. He was recently inducted into the National Tractor Pullers Association Hall of Fame,” said Tyron Spearman, Coordinator of the Pull.
Competitive classes include the 5200 pound 2-Wheel Drive Pro-Street Trucks, the 5200 pound 2-wheel Drive Modifieds, the 6200 pound 2- wheel drive Super Modified with Blowers, the 6000 pound 4-wheel Drive Super Stock Trucks, the 6200 pound 4-wheel drive Modified Trucks plus the 8000 pound Super Farm Tractors. Spearman said that the pull will also offer an Amateur Class allowing local trucks and tractors the opportunity to try the professional sled both nights.
“Tifton and South Georgia really enjoys the family friendly entertainment that truck and tractor pulling offers,” states Angela Moore, Assistant Coordinator.
The Tifton Truck and Tractor Pull is coordinated by the Ag Equipment Technology Club at ABAC with proceeds going to building a new pulling tractor and Club activities. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6-12 years of age, 5 years and under is Free.
Gates open at 5 pm and the pull starts at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday. The pull track is one mile east of Downtown Tifton on Highway 82 at the American Legion Fairgrounds. Concessions are available.
