Invasive plant pests and diseases that are not native to this nation costs U. S. farmers and consumers billions of dollars. With more of them getting across the border all the time one way or another, it is becoming more costly than ever. In this report, discussion with Division of Plant Industry director Richard Gaskalla, discussing the situaiton with so many new invasive pests and disease introductions into Florida and the U. S., and what is being done to deal with the problem.
