Government Health Officials use what is known as the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey to gather information for USDA’s National Nutrient Data Base. but Karen Andrews of the Agricultural Research Service says that since now more than 50 percent of adults use dietary supplements an additional data base and survey was needed.
