Florida Citrus Mutual CEO Mike Sparks and his team have been busy finding bucks and making arrangements for this week’s International Research Conference on Huanglongbing (HLB) known to 
many in Florida simply as the dreaded “citrus greening disease”. It is the first time ever citrus scientists from all around the world have been gathered to focus on this single problem, which many believe could devastate world citrus production over time without some firm research answers.
In this report, Sparks discusses the efforts and his delight at the strong turnout, nearly 400 attended the first session, representing several U S states and 26 other countries around the world.
