Marine scientists are turning to nature as the solution to coastal erosion by planting tons of oyster shells to form angular breaks. They hope to show that the aquatic life drawn to the shells can create a living shoreline, preventing the erosion better than the other options that inevitably have to be rebuilt and often alter natural habitat.
