FL Citrus Mutual’s Revamped Website

LAKELAND, Fla. (February 4, 2008) In order to provide growers, the media and the general public with better citrus information, Florida Citrus Mutual Monday unveiled a completely revamped website. The website – www.flcitrusmutual.com – will offer the latest news on issues affecting the industry including pest and disease research, labor reform and trade policy. The site sports new colors and graphics featuring old packing crate labels designed to honor the industry’s past. “Florida Citrus Mutual is committed to keeping our members and the public informed about all of the issues,” said Michael W. Sparks, executive VP/CEO of Florida Citrus Mutual. “The new website, coupled with the Triangle newsletter and periodic e-mail blasts really gives us three strong methods to disseminate information to our members.”
The website features a news scroll with recent citrus headlines, a daily update section called the “Daily Squeeze” and a periodic column by long time Mutual field man Rusty Wiygul called Rusty’s Ramblings. Each has a feature where visitors can comment on the day’s topic. The site also has an entire page dedicated to citrus greening disease information. The site will continue to post the latest citrus Market Information as well.
