FDOC Budget Under Fire; Chairman Wants Better Outreach

FDOC Exec Dir Ken Keck In this week’s Florida Department of Citrus news focus, grower dollars are reportedly targeted by the Governor’s budget axe, but FDOC leaders say grower dollars should not be taken to help fund state budget shortfalls. 2007 Citrus Commission Chairman Ben Albritton Jr from WauchulaFDOC Executive Director Ken Keck comments in the first report below. In the second report, the new Citrus Commission Chairman, grower Ben Albritton Jr of Wauchula, says he is serious about giving growers more input into the FDOC process, even if it means less Commission meetings in Lakeland and more Commission interaction with growers directly around the state.
