Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns and other USDA officials made themselves available for interviews on Thursday to explain the administration’s concerns about the 2007 Farm Bill. Even House Ag Committee Republicans withdrew support for their own bill this week after the House Ways and Means Committee proposed to fund some spending in the farm bill with tax increases on foreign-owned businesses operating in the U.S.
