The first speaker on today’s program was Richard Gaskalla.
Richard is the director of the Division of Plant Industry, Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Richard was here to give everyone an update on the status of canker in the state. He says that although some canker has been found, it’s been limited to areas where it was found before and that was in the path of recent hurricanes. He sees a bright future in the short term for the citrus industry here in Florida.
