Auburn, Ala – Dr. William Puckett, Alabama State Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), has announced Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI) projects with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Alabama Forestry Commission, and the Limited Resource Landowner Education and Assistance Network.

Dixie County EWP Project

The Florida Natural Resource Conservation Service has often utilized their Emergency Watershed Program to assist communities that have damage due adverse weather conditions. One recent example of such efforts is the town of Suwannee, where the Suwannee River flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

AL NRCS Pilot Grazing Project

Auburn, Ala. – State Conservationist Dr. William E. Puckett has announced that the Natural Resources Conservation Service will receive funding for a Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP) Grazing Pilot Project in Alabama. A two week sign-up will be held beginning July 20, 2009.

Town of De Bary EWP Project

August of 2008 brought a large amount of rain to Florida as Tropical Storm Fay slowly made its way across the state. The amount of rainfall created a multitude of problems for the Town of De Bary and Florida NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection program was able to step in and assist.

AL ANRC Holding Regional Forestry Events

Palm Shores EWP Project

Tropical Storm Faye managed to wreak havoc on much of the state last August, creating several issues for residents of Palm Shores. Mayor Carol McCormack says that the issues were quickly resolved thanks to the NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection Program.
