Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL), a member of the House Agriculture Committee, is finalizing a bill that directly addresses the agriculture labor shortage for seasonal and year-round producers. While a bill has been introduced by Democrats that attempts to solve our overall immigration system, Yoho told Southeast AgNet’s Randall Weiseman his proposal focuses solely on ag labor.
According to Yoho, the Agricultural Guest Worker Program will create a vetted workforce through the USDA and Department of Labor that is reliable, year in, and year out.
