Everett Griner talks about how U.S. loses will play out without TPP in today’s Agri View. Everett tells us about some of the concerns farmers in the United States are having.
Farmers Concerns and TPP Losses
Most consumers in this country have little knowledge of TPP, and, what dropping the United States out of that trade group will do to agriculture. Trans-Pacific Partnership, or TPP, is made up of eleven countries. Including Canada and Mexico. These countries account for eleven percent of the whole world’s economy.
It is already established that the United States of America will find itself at a big trade disadvantage in this region. The fact is, the United States will lose considerable market share once the trade agreement goes into effect. Not in all of these eleven countries, but, enough to make a difference in the U.S. farm economy. You are talking about 500 million people in these countries.
It isn’t hard to see why U.S. farmers are concerned. I don’t think so.
That’s Agri View for today. I’m Everett Griner…
