Some Georgia Cotton Fields Still Need Rain

USDA released their Crop Production Report for August last Friday, and it showed cotton production in Georgia is forecast to be 2.6 million bales, up 15 percent from last year. The acreage figure still stands at 1.3 million acres. While there have been some fields that the rain clouds found, Georgia Cotton Commission’s Richey Seaton says that’s not the case everywhere, and thus he’s not too sure about the forecasted figures for this year’s crop.
