Gary Cooper

AgNet’s Gary Cooper again anchored the LIVE annual broadcast for the 21st consecutive year, this time from a special clay shoot and BBQ event hosted by Florida Citrus Mutual at Baxter Troutman’s Dark Hammock Legacy Ranch near Lake Placid, which served as a beautiful setting for this gathering of citrus growers. Florida Citrus Mutual and Troutman’s LaborSolutions.com business are sponsors of this annual LIVE broadcast, along with Farm Credit of Florida.

Another grower gathering taking place in Florida’s heartland to feature this broadcast was held at high noon at Pioneer Park in Zolfo Springs, hosted by Peace River Valley Citrus Growers Association. AgNet’s Josh McGill and Citrus Industry magazine’s interim editor Tacy Callies were on hand at the PRVCGA event. PRVCGA has for many years hosted events for its member growers to feature this live broadcast, and numerous years in the past Cooper has anchored this broadcast from the PRVCGA events.

As always for this timely report, whether in a crowd or alone with their radios, growers were keenly tuned to the network to hear the news first as it was released. Details of the annual crop forecast chart are posted here to view or to print.

Stay tuned to this website and to Southeast AgNet for more to come, including reactions of growers and others to today’s historic citrus crop forecast.

And growers, please help us thank the sponsors of this effort. Without sponsors and advertisers wanting to be connected to our audience, farm broadcast news could not exist.

Stay tuned!

Florida Citrus Mutual issued a statement and members made comments at a gathering. Check out the news release and listen to their comments on the forecast.

The next monthly citrus crop forecast will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015 and will be carried “LIVE” here on southeastagnet.com.
