Lower Cotton Acreage Expected This Year

According to the National Cotton Council’s annual planting intentions survey, cotton producers intend to plant 9.4 million acres of cotton this spring, down 14.6 percent from last year. Dr. Gary Adams, President and CEO of the Council, looks at what they expect will replace those acres.
