FDA Rejects Brazil’s Request To Test OJ Imports At Single Strength

The Food and Drug Administration has apparently rejected a request by the Brazilian Citrus Exporters Association (Citrus BR) that orange juice imported into the United States be tested for quantifiable residues of the fungicide carbendazim on a single-strength basis. Citrus BR made that request based on the fact that orange juice concentrate will be diluted to single strength prior to consumption. Read the FDA’s Feb. 16 letter here.
