USDA Approves 2009 Disaster Assistance to Help Alabama Farmers

MONTGOMERY – Agriculture & Industries Commissioner Ron Sparks has announced that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved disaster assistance for 2009 for farmers and producers across the United States. The disaster assistance will include a Crop Assistance Program, a Lost Poultry Contract Assistance Program, and an Aquaculture Grant Program.

Batching Deadlines Set for Several FL NRCS Conservation Programs

Florida’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in Florida has set a cutoff date of October 29, 2010, to submit applications for several voluntary conservation programs. Conservation Program Specialist, Katura Wright, says these include the Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program, the Wetlands Reserve Program, the Grassland Reserve Program, the Conservation Stewardship Program and the Environmental Quality Incentives Program.
