Importing honey bees from Australia has grown in recent years as a way to augment U.S. bee production but the USDA has found that exotic honey bee pathogens may have recently been introduced into the country. Florida Still Awaiting Japan’s Citrus Canker Protocol

Indian River Citrus League Executive Vice President Doug Bournique believes the Japanese, who have agreed in principal to receive canker-blemished fruit from Florida, will have protocols in place by next season.
