Georgia Beef Board Focuses on Beef Quality Assurance

The Georgia Beef Board is focusing on Beef Quality Assurance, especially through the upcoming Georgia Cattlemen’s Association Convention. We caught up with Wyatt Doolittle to learn more.

Doolittle said, “So BQA focuses on best practices in cattle care, everything from proper handling and nutrition to herd health and record keeping. At the end of the day, it’s about making sure we’re producing a safe and wholesome product while also taking care of our animals the right way. And today, BQA is more important than ever. Buyers are looking for it, consumers expect it, and it’s becoming a key part of protecting the value of your cattle.”

“Having that certification shows that you’re serious about your operation and committed to doing things the right way. So that’s why the Georgia Beef Board is excited to offer a BQA training at this year’s Georgia Cattlemen’s Convention right here in Perry. Whether you need to get certified or just renew, it’s a great opportunity to stay current and pick up practical, real-world insights that you can take back to your operation. These sessions are designed for producers, straightforward, useful, and focused on what actually works within your operation. If you’re planning to attend convention, I’d encourage you to go ahead and RSVP for the BQA training ahead of time. It’ll help us plan and ensure that you’ve got a seat. At the end of the day, BQA isn’t just about individual operations, it’s about protecting the reputation of the entire beef industry, and that’s something we can all stand behind,” said Doolittle.
