Spring arrives on the calendar tomorrow, but it feels more like late summer in many areas of the country. Areas early week that were shoveling snow in the northern belt could be setting record highs tomorrow and Saturday.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Minneapolis and Madison, Wisconsin all could set highs after snow earlier in the week. Agronomists say the warm weather should help no-melt in the soak in the topsoil rather than runoff, but they also quickly add winter wheat damage from earlier cold won’t be known for another month or so. We look for July Kansas City wheat to hold that 610 level. December corn holding 465 or better. November soybeans at 1108 or better.
We join the good people at AgroLiquid and others around agriculture and saddened by the passing of farm broadcaster Orion Samuelson. I knew Orion well. 60 years at WGN Chicago.
