The Trump Administration has been implementing Rapid Response Trade Missions as part of a strategy to bolster foreign trade discussions. Recently Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Luke Lindberg completed a trade mission with US Agricultural Producers in Guatemala where he highlighted the efforts and benefits of these missions.

Lindberg said, ”Undersecretary Luke Lindberg here in Guatemala City, leading our fifth Trump mission to make sure we’re taking advantage of President Trump’s new access opportunities for U.S. farmers and ranchers right here in Guatemala. I just finished meeting at the National Palace with the president and four of their cabinet level ministers. We are making real progress. One example, inspections at ports down from 100% of U.S. products coming in, to some cases only 5%. Speeding things up, making sure our products are getting to shelves more quickly, more effectively, putting wins on the board, bringing real results back to America’s farmers and ranchers.”

The Coordinating Committee of Agricultural, Commercial, Industrial, and Financial Associations in Guatemala highlighted Linberg’s comments in a post on X where he said, “Reciprocal trade means win-win — wins here in Guatemala and wins in the United States. Our visit reflects our commitment to see through the implementation of this agreement and to make sure that you in Guatemala understand that you are a priority for the United States.”
