The Georgia Beef Board is promoting beef through sports activities and we caught up with Wyatt Doolittle with the Georgia Beef Board to learn more.
Doolittle said, “We were super excited to be part of the Publix Atlanta Marathon this year. So this is one of the largest running events in the southeast and brings tens of thousands of runners and spectators right into Atlanta. Our goal is really just to highlight beef as a high quality protein source for active lifestyles. Whether you’re training for a marathon or just trying to stay healthy, beef provides those important nutrients like protein, iron, zinc, and B vitamins to help fuel that recovery and performance. I had the opportunity to interact with runners and spectators and talk about how beef fits into a balanced diet and events like this help us connect agriculture with consumers in a meaningful way.”
“We have recently announced our partnership with Score Atlanta and we’re really excited about this. So Score Atlanta covers high school sports across the state and this collaboration gives us a chance to connect with student athletes and their families. A big part of that is also highlighting the role beef plays in fueling performance and growing bodies. Student athletes need high quality nutrition to compete, recover, and stay healthy. Through this partnership, we’ll be sharing information about nutrition, recovery, athletic performance, and how beef can be a part of a healthy training diet. And it’s a great way to support local students while promoting the hardworking farmers and ranchers who raise beef right here in Georgia,” said Doolittle.
