The Alabama Cattlemen’s Association transitioned officers during their Annual Convention and Trade Show last week in Mobile and we caught up with Outgoing President Keith Glover who shared the highlights over the past year.
Glover said, “Probably the highlight for me was getting to travel to several different counties, not as many as I would have liked to had. The people I met and realizing the diverse nature of our state and the thing that I think sticks out about our association is the work that is done at the county level. It truly is what makes the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association kind of stand apart from a lot of other state affiliates.”
Glover also shared what areas of the association he’d like to see the organization continue their focus in the coming year, saying “Grow our YCLP program. It is absolutely the lifeblood. It’s been real unique over the last three years to watch how the membership, the leadership of our association rolls over and develops. And with, I think, naming or inducting the 13th YCLP class this weekend, that’s only going to continue to get better. Getting those young people involved at a earlier, younger age, I think is huge to our goals.”
