Serious injury or serious long-term illness is part of any profession but can be particularly devastating for family farm operations if crops can’t be planted or harvested and that’s where Farm Rescue comes in. Growing up we called them good neighbor deeds.
Local farmers would simply gather and plant or harvest hundreds, even thousands of acres if it took several days for a nearby injured farmer. Farm Rescue was founded by a North Dakota farmer in 2005 to provide such services in more a coordinated manner. Unfortunately Farm Rescue is not yet available in this area but adding their 11th state in the Midwest, that is Missouri, in 2025.
