The Georgia Beef Board has been working to promote beef this past week at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry. We caught up with Wyatt Doolittle with the Georgia Beef Board to learn more.

Doolittle said, “So this week was state show week and it’s always one of the most meaningful weeks of the year for the Beef Board. So throughout the week, our team stayed actively involved, supporting exhibitors, partnering with fellow organizations, and making sure Georgia Beef had a strong presence, not only across the grounds, but for the first time ever in the rodeo as well. So one of our favorite parts of the week was partnering with the Dairy Alliance to hand out coffee to exhibitors and their families. It was a small way to show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication that it takes to participate in events like this.”

“We also spent some time helping out with steer and heifer check-in. Being there during check-in is important to us because it allows us to support youth and families at a critical moment and reminds them that beef industry is behind them every step of the way. Then each night, we had the opportunity for the first time ever to feed the rodeo contestants. And it was rewarding to provide meals to the rodeo athletes who give so much to their sport and to the fans who come out to support them. In conjunction with this, probably one of the most powerful moments of the week was seeing the Georgia Beef Board flag run in the grand entry of the rodeo with sold-out crowds every night. It was an incredible way to showcase pride in Georgia’s beef industry and highlight the producers who make it all possible,” said Doolittle.

“State show week is more than just events. It’s about people, partnerships, and the future of agriculture. We’re extremely proud to support Georgia’s youth, stand alongside our industry partners and allies, and continue sharing the story of Georgia Beef,” said Doolittle.
