The peanut industry is reporting a nationwide recall this week on some small peanut butter products.
It came from Ventura Foods in California, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The recall comes from being initiated due to blue pieces in a filter that could be found in 22,000 single-serve products that they send across America. It’s affected about 40 states, and they said it’s no problem as far as just the recall because of the small plastic pieces in that peanut butter.
In other news, the shell market price dropped another penny this past week. 25 crop now selling at $47, $46, and $45. That’s $47 for jumbo peanut runners, and $46 for medium runners going to various locations.
In the loan, the loan is moving peanuts placed in the loan. They receive about $390 per ton for the farmer, and then when they are sold, the loan is repaid as they come out of the loan. They have now sent out about 447,000 tons coming out of the loan of a 2.9 million ton total.
So the peanuts are moving just as normal coming out of those loan programs.
