Florida Agriculture Commissioner Opens Nominations for 2026 Agriculture Awards

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson has announced that the nomination period is now open for two prestigious statewide honors: the Florida Woman of the Year in Agriculture Award and the Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award.
According to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, “The Woman of the Year in Agriculture Award annually recognizes the achievements of women who have made outstanding contributions to Florida agriculture. The Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award is also presented annually, spotlighting environmentally innovative growers and ranchers who share a commitment to protecting and preserving Florida’s resources while continuing to produce the world-class agricultural goods we rely on.”
These annual Florida agriculture awards celebrate leadership, innovation, and environmental stewardship across the state’s diverse agricultural industry.
Commissioner Simpson emphasized the importance of recognizing excellence within the industry, stating, “Florida agriculture continues to lead because of the dedicated men and women who combine hard work, innovation, and stewardship every day. These awards recognize women whose leadership strengthens our agricultural communities and growers and ranchers who prove that conservation and production go hand in hand. I encourage Floridians to nominate those who represent the very best of Florida agriculture.”
Honoring Leadership and Environmental Stewardship
The Woman of the Year in Agriculture Award highlights female leaders whose work has significantly strengthened Florida’s agricultural sector. From farming and ranching to agribusiness and advocacy, nominees represent the backbone of Florida agriculture.
The Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award recognizes growers and ranchers who demonstrate that conservation and agricultural production can successfully work together. Recipients serve as models for sustainable practices, resource protection, and long-term environmental responsibility.
