Technology continues to transform the cattle industry, and Envu is helping lead that change with its digital platform, RangeView®. Designed to support ranchers and producers with real-time insights, the Envu RangeView® system combines herbicide planning, grazing management, and smart ear tag technology into one comprehensive platform.
We recently sat down with Craig Hossfeld of Envu to learn more about how the digital cattle management tool is helping producers improve pasture performance and herd oversight.
Pairing RangeView® with Herbicide Solutions
RangeView® integrates directly with Envu herbicides such as Rejuvra and Invora, particularly in western grazing operations. Using the platform, producers can identify invasive species, map affected areas, and create targeted treatment plans to restore pasture health.
By combining herbicide data with digital mapping tools, ranchers can make more informed land management decisions and track improvements over time.
Advanced Grazing Management Platform
Beyond weed control, Envu RangeView® serves as a full grazing management platform. Ranchers can outline individual pastures, map herd locations, and build actionable grazing plans. The system generates reports that help evaluate herd movement, pasture usage, and overall operational efficiency.
The newest integration takes ranch technology even further: smart ear tag connectivity.
Smart Ear Tags and Geofence Technology
RangeView® now integrates with advanced smart ear tags for cattle that provide detailed performance metrics. These tags monitor:
- Location tracking
- Time spent grazing, walking, resting, and ruminating
- High and low activity alerts
- Geofence break notifications
This cattle geofence technology allows producers to draw sensitive areas directly on the platform and create custom “fence out” or “fence in” zones. If an animal enters or exits a designated area, ranchers receive instant alerts through the mobile app.
The overlapping geofence capability is especially useful for monitoring fence lines or protecting environmentally sensitive areas. Real-time alerts give producers the ability to respond quickly and proactively manage herd behavior.
Getting Started with Envu RangeView®
Producers interested in exploring the platform can visit rangeview.inview.com. Signing up for an account is free, allowing ranchers to explore features and determine which components best fit their operation.
As ranch technology solutions continue to evolve, tools like Envu RangeView® are giving cattle producers the data-driven insights needed to take grazing management to the next level.
