February Farm Calendar: Key Peanut Industry Meetings Across the Southeast

As farmers finalize plans for the upcoming growing season, February is shaping up to be a busy month for the peanut industry. Several important meetings, conferences, and educational events are scheduled across the Southeast, offering growers opportunities to stay informed, connect with industry partners, and prepare for the year ahead.
The calendar begins on February 11, when the Mississippi Peanut Growers Association Annual Meeting will take place. This event provides Mississippi growers with updates on production issues, research, and industry priorities.
From February 12 through February 14, the 2026 National Peanut Buying Point Association Winter Conference will be held in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference coincides with the National Farm Machinery Show, giving attendees a chance to participate in both events. Organizers report that there are still openings available for those interested in attending the planned program.
Peanut meetings continue later in the month, reflecting the national scope of the industry. On February 24, the Virginia State Peanut Production meeting will be held, highlighting how peanut growers across multiple regions are actively engaged in production and market discussions.
Georgia producers also have important dates to note. From February 14, the Georgia Crop Improvement Association will host its seed short course, focusing specifically on peanut seed. In addition, another peanut seed-focused event is scheduled for February 24 at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Comfort Center, offering growers valuable insights into seed quality and production practices.
Florida growers will have two key events to mark on their calendars. On February 26, the Florida Peanut Producers Association Annual Meeting will be held at the Jackson County Ag Center in Marianna. Just two days later, on February 28, the Florida Peanut Federation Annual Meeting and Banquet will take place at the Florida Gateway Fairgrounds in Lake City, Florida.
With meetings spanning multiple states and covering everything from seed quality to market outlooks, February offers farmers numerous opportunities to gather information and make informed decisions as they plan what they’re going to grow in the coming year.
