Agenda Set for Georgia Cotton Commission Meeting

Georgia cotton growers and industry leaders are reminded that the Georgia Cotton Commission’s Annual Meeting and University of Georgia (UGA) Cotton Production Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Georgia.

The day starts with UGA cotton production workshops scheduled for 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., followed by the main program, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. It will include presentations from featured speakers; Phillip Roberts, UGA Extension entomologist; Mary Catherine Cromley, USDA-Farm Service Agency Chief of Staff; and Marjory Walker, Vice President of Operations, National Cotton Council of America.

Following a lunch program from noon to 1:45 p.m., two additional UGA cotton production workshop times will be held at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

UGA workshop presentations will focus on agronomics and physiology; economics and marketing; irrigation and precision agriculture; plant pathology; risk management and farm programs; and soil fertility.
