National Peanut Board Announces New Leadership and Brand Direction
The National Peanut Board (NPB) continues to play a vital role in supporting peanut farmers and promoting peanuts nationwide through its federally authorized checkoff program. Funded directly by peanut farmers from across the United States, the National Peanut Board operates with an annual budget of approximately $13 million dedicated to research, marketing, and promotion of peanuts and peanut products.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the National Peanut Board recently announced a significant leadership transition. Neil Baxley of South Carolina has been named the new chairman of the board. Upon accepting the role, Baxley stated, “I’m deeply honored to serve as chair of the National Peanut Board.” His appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the peanut industry, as producers and stakeholders prepare for a refreshed brand identity and renewed outreach efforts.
Reflecting on the future of the industry, Baxley emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation. He said, “It is time of change across this peanut industry, and with a new brand for peanuts in the horizon, the energy is high.” Baxley also highlighted his commitment to unity and growth, adding, “I look forward to playing a role in our industry coming together, taking advantage of the momentum that’s been built and elevating USA grown peanuts in a powerful new way.”
In addition to the election of officers, the board approved a new National Peanut Board logo. The updated logo is designed to align with the upcoming peanut brand launch scheduled for 2026. According to the board, the logo represents a modern and unified visual identity that supports key strategic priorities. These include increasing relevance with younger consumers, strengthening storytelling efforts, and creating clear alignment across grower, industry, and consumer communications.
The rebrand signals a forward-looking approach as the National Peanut Board seeks to connect more effectively with evolving audiences while continuing to support America’s peanut farmers. The next board meeting is scheduled to take place March 2nd to the 4th, 2026, at the National Peanut Board, where further details on the brand launch and strategic initiatives are expected to be discussed.
As momentum builds, the National Peanut Board remains focused on elevating the profile of USA grown peanuts and ensuring long-term success for the peanut industry.
