Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson has announced a festive and symbolic move to protect holiday traditions across the Sunshine State. The state of Florida has issued Emergency Order 2025-CHRISTMAS, officially clearing the way for Santa Claus to deliver presents without permits, approvals, paperwork, or government authorization.
The emergency order guarantees that Santa Claus may freely travel throughout Florida on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, ensuring that no regulatory barriers interfere with his annual visit. Notably, the order is designed to automatically take effect every year on December 24th and 25th, removing the need for repeated action in the future.
Commissioner Simpson emphasized the intent behind the order, framing it as a statement about limited government and preserving cherished traditions. He said, “In Florida, we don’t regulate Christmas – we protect it by getting government out of the way. Santa doesn’t need permission to do what he’s always done. This order simply guarantees that bureaucracy won’t slow him down.”
