The National Peanut Board, funded by Grower Checkoff Funds, is embarking on a new chapter with the launch of its 2026–2028 strategic plan. The plan is designed to strengthen the peanut industry, support farming families, and expand consumer engagement. Execution of the plan will begin in January 2026.
Key Features of the Strategic Plan
The updated plan emphasizes:
- A refreshed mission statement to guide all initiatives
- Unity in the peanut industry, fostering collaboration among growers and stakeholders
- Evolved strategies to maximize impact through research, marketing, and promotion
The new mission of the National Peanut Board is:
“To cultivate the value of U.S.A. grown peanuts and strengthen the future of peanut farming families through compelling promotion and groundbreaking research.”
Focus on Consumers and Industry
According to Ryan Lepizier, the board remains “laser-focused on benefiting American peanut farmers and their families through promotion and research.” The strategic plan also seeks to increase the value of U.S. peanuts grown while supporting families to stay on the farm.
A major goal of the plan is to engage the Gen Z population, cultivating passion and loyalty for U.S.A. grown peanuts. The National Peanut Board aims to unite the peanut industry behind a powerful brand that inspires pride and reverence among the next generation of consumers.
Vision for Growth
The board’s vision is straightforward:
“Want more people enjoying and using more peanuts in more ways more often.”
Through this plan, the National Peanut Board intends to drive both industry unity and consumer enthusiasm, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable future for U.S. peanut farming families.
