Georgia Peanut Commission Promotes Peanuts with New PB&J 5K Run in Perry, Georgia

The Georgia Peanut Commission is known for finding creative ways to promote peanuts, and this weekend they’re rolling out one of their most engaging ideas yet — the PB&J 5K Run in Perry, Georgia. The event is a partnership among the Georgia Peanut Commission, Georgia Farm Bureau, the National Peanut Buying Points Association, and the American Peanut Shellers Association, all working together to spotlight the nutritional value and everyday enjoyment of peanut butter and jelly.
“Well, they’ve partnered up now with the Georgia Farm Bureau and the Georgia Peanut Commission along with the National Peanut Buying Points Association and the American Peanut Sellers Association to sponsor a PB&J, peanut butter and jelly, 5k run. It will be held this weekend at the National Agricultural Fairgrounds in Perry, Georgia. The run is Saturday morning starting about 8 o’clock.”
Participants will not only enjoy the race experience but also receive fun peanut-themed perks.
“The runners will receive a race bag, a nutrition message from the Peanut Institute and Tyron Spearman will be grilling hot peanut butter and jelly sandwiches during this opening of the registration starts at 8 o’clock with PB&Js ready after the race, they said.”
What began as a modest goal has quickly turned into an impressive success.
“The goal has been to register about 200 people. However, at starting time today, they said they were over 500 registered for the run.”
With such strong community enthusiasm, organizers expect the PB&J 5K to not only celebrate health and fun but also boost interest in Georgia peanuts and their many uses.
“This promotion is certain to increase the sales of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and likely recruit some new members to the Georgia Farm Bureau. A new promotion of PB&J 5k is Saturday in Perry, Georgia.”
This weekend’s PB&J 5K is shaping up to be one of the most successful peanut promotions yet — uniting families, runners, and peanut lovers for a morning of fun, flavor, and support for Georgia agriculture.
