According to Agri-Marketing Magazine, most major agricultural stocks have performed well in 2025, showing solid growth through mid-October. Tracking ag-related companies traded on the big board, the magazine notes that livestock-related stocks are clearly outperforming grain and equipment manufacturers so far this year.

“It should be no surprise that livestock-related companies have fared better than some grain or equipment manufacturers, leading the list, in fact.”

At the top of the list is Elanco Animal Health, whose stock is “up 70% since New Year’s.” This reflects growing investor confidence in the animal health sector, likely driven by consistent protein demand and increased global focus on livestock productivity.

Second is Bayer Ag, a global player in animal health and crop protection, with its stock value “up 40.5%.” Despite facing regulatory scrutiny in various sectors, Bayer’s ag division remains a core strength and has shown strong returns in 2025.

Another top performer is Belmont Industries, a manufacturer of irrigation and utility products. Their stock is “up 34.5%,” a potential signal that infrastructure and ag water management continue to be key growth areas, especially in drought-prone regions.

Interestingly, grain sector companies are also showing notable gains. “Two companies in the grain industry, ADM and Bungie Ag, are both up double digits, with ADM stock up 26% and Bungie up 20%.” These increases may reflect higher global demand for grain and oilseeds as food security continues to drive trade and export markets.

The 2025 market trend suggests that while global economic uncertainty remains, agriculture stocks—particularly those tied to livestock and essential infrastructure—are viewed as stable investments with long-term potential.

As investors seek reliable sectors amid inflationary pressures and supply chain disruptions, agriculture appears to be delivering resilience. The diversified performance across livestock, grain, and ag tech companies highlights the broad strength of the ag economy as harvest season wraps up and producers prepare for 2026.
