The National Cattlemen’s Foundation and CME Group have officially opened the application period for the 2025 CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship Program, offering financial support to students pursuing careers in agriculture and the beef industry.

Todd Johnson, Senior Vice President of Federation Services for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, shared an update on the scholarship program, stating:

“We see a great future in our industry, and through this partnership with the CME Group and the National Cattlemen’s Foundation, we want to reward students who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture and help them achieve the financial stability they need to pursue that degree at a two- or four-year university.”

Each year, ten scholarships worth $1,500 each are awarded to deserving students who demonstrate a passion for the beef industry and a commitment to agriculture.

Johnson expressed gratitude for the longstanding partnership, saying:

“I want to thank the CME Group for their continued dedication to this program since 1989. The CME Group has been a great partner within CBA and our effort through the National Cattlemen’s Foundation to bring resources to qualified students to advance the beef industry.”

To be eligible, applicants must be high school seniors graduating in spring of 2026, or current full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university.

“The candidates must be a high school senior graduating in spring of 2026 or a full-time undergraduate student. So they could already be out of high school and into college, but the key is that they’re graduating high school in spring 2026 and then enrolled at a two- or four-year institution.”

The application deadline is November 7th, giving prospective candidates ample time to gather their materials and apply.

This scholarship is part of a broader effort by the National Cattlemen’s Foundation and CME Group to invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders and strengthen the future of the beef industry.
