Visit the Powerful Peanut Experience at the Georgia National Fair Before October 12

While farmers are in the field working this week bringing in the new crop, fairgoers in Perry, Georgia have the chance to explore an exciting new exhibit celebrating the state’s official crop — peanuts.
“While farmers are in the field working this week bringing in the new crop, a new exhibit is being unveiled about peanuts at the Georgia National Fair. It’s called the Powerful Peanut Experience.”
Located in the Georgia Grown Building, the exhibit is a joint effort by Georgia Grown and the Georgia Department of Agriculture, running now through Sunday, October the 12th.
“Georgia Grown and the Georgia Department of Agriculture will showcase the power and sustainability of peanuts, Georgia’s official state crop. It’s during the National Fair until Sunday, October the 12th.”
This interactive and educational experience is dedicated to Don Koehler, longtime Executive Director of the Georgia Peanut Commission, who is retiring after 40 years of service.
“You want to take a time to visit the peanut exhibit. It’s being dedicated to Don Koehler of the Georgia Peanut Commission. He’s been Executive Director for the last 40 years.”
Visitors will get a one-of-a-kind, underground look at the peanut growing process in this immersive exhibit.
“This exhibit, they said, will not only tell you about what’s underneath the ground, you’re going to be underground and watching peanuts grow above you in this unique exhibit.”
Don Koehler shared his hopes for what guests will take away:
“Don said we’re grateful for all the hard work that went into making this happen. Our main goal is for visitors to walk away knowing more about peanuts than when you came to the peanut exhibit.”
“Once inside the exhibit, you can step beneath towering peanut plants and experience firsthand how peanuts are grown. The journey begins with the foundation of the peanut industry all the way to its exciting food, peanuts as a food ingredient, highlighting the history of peanut butter and how peanuts fit into a healthy lifestyle.”
“That’s at the peanut exhibit at the Georgia National Fair until Sunday.”
Don’t miss this must-see celebration of Georgia’s powerful peanut legacy.
