Visit the Powerful Peanut Exhibit at the Georgia National Fair Before It Closes Sunday

The Georgia National Fair continues this week in Perry, Georgia, drawing large crowds and spotlighting the state’s rich agricultural roots. With Sunday marking the final day, visitors still have time to experience a highlight of this year’s fair: the Powerful Peanut Experience.
“The Georgia National Fair continues in Perry, Georgia this week until Sunday is the last closing day. In the past they’ve had about 500,000 visitors each year and this year will be another record.”
Inside the Georgia Grown Building, this year’s featured exhibit shifts focus to peanuts, after previously showcasing Georgia’s forestry and cotton industries.
“At the Georgia Grown Building at the Georgia National Fair they featured the forestry industry two years ago, then last year the cotton industry. Well, this year the Georgia Rural Center teamed up with the Georgia Peanut Commission to bring fair goers another immeasurable exhibit called the Powerful Peanut Experience.”
The immersive exhibit allows fairgoers to quite literally go underground to witness the growth and sustainability of peanuts, which are a cornerstone crop in Georgia.
“Georgia Grown and Georgia Department of Agriculture will showcase the power and sustainability of peanuts during the fair this year. So as you go into the Georgia Grown Building be sure to stop. You’ll be underground watching peanuts grow at that new exhibit.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this week also paid tribute to a leader in the industry.
“During the opening ceremony a few days ago the Georgia Peanut Commission and the Georgia Rural Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Joe Botterford, the president of the Georgia Peanut Commission, was there. He announced a special dedication of the exhibit to Don Kaler, Executive Director of the Georgia Peanut Commission.”
“After serving 40 years he says he plans to retire. But he’s got a big exhibit in his honor. It’s at the Georgia National Fair.”
Don’t miss your chance to visit this educational and heartfelt tribute to peanuts and the people behind the industry.
“You need to stop by while you’re visiting in Perry, Georgia through Sunday.”
